CAROLINE
DENCH
Caroline Dench, M.A. is the co-ordinator of the Callan Institute for Positive
Behaviour Support, St John of God Hospitaller Services, Ireland. Ms Dench trained
as a
Clinical Psychologist and has focused upon training and supporting staff, families
and organisations to respond effectively to people with challenging behaviour. Her
work draws upon extensive experience as a practitioner, trainer and lecturer
both in Ireland and the United States. She joined the Callan Institute in 1997
and has assisted in its development as a nationally accredited training and consultation
agency. |

GILLIAN
MARTIN
Gillian
Martin, M.Sc. is a Behaviour Specialist with
the Callan Institute for Positive Behaviour
Support, St. John of God Hospitaller Services.
She has been employed by St. John of God
Hospitaller services since 1997. She graduated
with a B.A. in Psychology and a Higher Diploma
in Learning Disability Studies from University
College Dublin and a Masters in Applied Psychology
from University of Surrey. Ms. Martin has
spent 8 years working with people with intellectual
disabilities and challenging behaviour in
Ireland and the United Kingdom. Prior to
joining the Callan Institute team in 2002,
Ms. Martin worked as a Behaviour Specialist
in the United States. |

CAROL MAY
Carol
May is the Administrative Assistant for The
Callan Institute for Positive Behaviour Support,
St. John of God Hospitaller Services. She
has been employed by St. John of God Hospitaller
services since 1997. She has extensive experience
in all areas of administration, including
the organisation and running of conferences
and training courses both locally and nationally.
She also receives backup support from the
administration team in Crinken House. |

Christina Doody
Christina Doody, BA, MA Cognitive Science, is a
Behaviour Specialist with the Callan Institute. In her
role, she is responsible for the delivery of training,
and the assessment and design of behaviour support plans
for individuals within St John of God Services. She
conducts and participates in research project design,
trains front-line staff and maintains an active
caseload. She lectures in Cognitive Psychology for
Oscail, National Distance Education Centre, in DCU. She
worked as a research assistant for Clinical Psychologist
Dr Miriam Moore in the areas of Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder (PTSD) and Well Being in the Workplace. She has
also worked as a researcher with Galway Family History
Society West. In addition she worked for a number of
years with adults with learning disabilities and
challenging behaviour in St John of God residential
services.
