Course Description:
This course is designed to support key-workers to implement
an existing Behaviour Support Plan with an individual who presents
with challenging behaviour.
Course Outline
This course, comprising of 3 half day workshops is designed
to equip key-workers with the skills they require to implement
an existing behaviour support plan. Each workshop will require
an assignment to be completed which will form the basis of the
following workshop. The course covers the following aspects:
Day 1:
- An Introduction to Multi-Element Behaviour Support.
- Review of
completed Questionnaire
- Assignment: Data Collection
Day II:
- Teaching the skills identified in the Behaviour Support
Plan.
- The use of Periodic Service Review
- Assignment: Complete the Periodic
Service Review for one week.
Day III:
- Factors involved in the co-ordination of Behaviour
Support Plans.
- Factors involved in the maintenance of Behaviour
Support Plans.
- Assignment: Complete the Callan Institute Maintenance

Who should attend?
This course is suitable for individual key-workers working
with someone who presents with challenging behaviour and who has
an existing behaviour support plan. A questionnaire will be sent
to all participants prior to the workshops. This completed questionnaire
will form the basis of the workshops and will need to be completed
before workshop
